Vignette snapshots of upcoming book

A work in progress....here is a tiny snapshot of what I have been up to recently (just a section of an artwork on the go). It's another joint venture, see below. The detail in this page took me a while to paint, and gave me some serious cake cravings! 

My blog has been a little quiet lately....but I have been very busy working as an assistant Illustrator on a larger-than-usual picture book, see credits and details above. The book is over 230 pages long and is a private commission direct from the Author/ Publisher. As you can imagine it has been a massive job, and I had been helping Carol- the lead Illustrator, with this for nearly two years. Now the book is published I can share with you a few snapshots of my favourite pieces. All of the compositions (apart from the did-you-know illustrations) are Carols, and these are some of my favourite little bits within the artworks that I did a lot of the work on. I especially enjoyed painting the details such as birds and patterns on the cushions and lamps, and of course all the table/party scenes.

Introducing Penguins!

I have a new project in the pipeline, working once again with Millbrook Press/ Lerner Publishing and the talented Irene Latham. The new book will feature a lot of penguins...I've been practicing!

Illustrator's Fair

I will be exhibiting (and hopefully selling!) at the House of Illustration's Illustrator's Fair. So excited to have a place. It's certain to be a great day with over a 100 Illustrators taking part on Sunday 22nd of June 11-6pm, 2 Granary Square, King's Cross, London.

The complimentary Illustrator's copies of Dear Wandering Wildebeest have arrived! Will be in the shops this Autumn, from September 1st. I'm very pleased with it!

I'm currently working on a new picture book of children's poems, based on African animals and the desert. I can't show any pictures yet but thought I would share the news.

I declare my Etsy shop open! I have been closed for a while but I am now selling a few things again- xmas cards and bits n bobs for the festive season.

I hand-painted a stool picked up from a yard sale.

Xmas prints and greetings cards are now available in my Etsy store (greetings cards buy 1 pack of 5 get 1 pack free).

I decided to make myself available for bespoke commissions this season.

I will be offering aceos, small originals 6x8 inches, customised prints and the option to print-your-own for those of you living overseas.
